The reinvention of America’s first indoor mall, the Southdale Center, continues with the addition of a new golf equipment store and testing facility.

Parson Xtreme Golf will open what is only its fifth U.S. store at the Edina mall in early February, with its other locations found in Chicago, Scottsdale, Seattle and Atlanta.

The 7,000-suqare-foot space will come complete with two custom golf club fitting bays, each of which are equipped with TrackMan simulators allowing shoppers to try out their swing before they buy.

The rest of the space will be taken up by an “expansive” shopping area, along with a putting green and a lounge.

The new store will be located on the mall’s upper level, near Macy’s.

It comes amid a wider transformation of the Southdale Center site, which has seen radical changes in recent years as it looks to offer consumers alternative options to traditional retail.
